Conspiracies exist, in small scale and in larger scale. Conspiracy thinking constitutes the tendency to reduce and explain social phenomena through conspiracy theory. It is a cognitive bias. Being skeptical of rulers can be very helpful, as a means to protect and carve spaces of autonomy, but on the same it most be known that conspiracy theories are a tool fostering the position of those in power. Not all conspiracy theories are the same, and some may proof to be correct, but most are just linked to enforce particular aspects of an status quo.
